Saving Energy at Home - Not all LED light bulbs are born equal

With a number of manufacturers claims that they can last up to 15 years and use 90% less energy than the traditional bulb, LED light bulbs seem to be a no-brainer at first glance. However, problems are prominent and LED light bulbs currently come up short.

Let us look at why:

LED light bulbs are definitely not the same. Some have more light output than others despite having similar specifications and manufactures' warranties. Others tend to be more fragile and do not last as long. The quality of the light can also vary significantly. It is always best to stitck to manufactures that are well known in the UK. Always check that the warranties are in place and that the company you buy bulbs from are reputable and have a clear delivery and returns policy

Leading LED light manufacturers include:

Philips
Reon
Kosnic
Toshiba
